Friends - The Covid-19 CoronaVirus is certainly changing all of our lives. We talk about disruption quite a bit in the Agile community and being able to respond to change. I think this is the perfect time for us as Agilists to re-examine the routines we have and see what might need to change. The prime example of that for me and the Scrum Alliance is our CSM/CSPO classes.

We find ourselves in a time when face-to-face is simply impractical and is in fact unsafe. None of us want to place anyone else at risk or contribute to the spread of this virus. This week then, the Scrum Alliance wisely allowed for temporary exemptions to allow CSM and CSPO classes to be given online. I found out that I will be giving the very first of these classes starting Monday, March 16, 2020.

This is a new day and it requires new approaches. There are some who made the case for us taking a step back and simply pausing. I disagreed with this approach. I believe adapting is more Agile and that we learn best by doing. We need to practice what we teach then and dive in so that we can learn what we don't know. I'm sure I will make mistakes this first class. That is expected. I will prepare extensively and practice to make the event as engaging and effective as possible. I'm sure I have blind spots though and I won't know them until I try.

Perhaps you find yourself dealing with change during this time as well? Millions are being asked to work from home full time now where before it was only an occasional thing. You might even find yourself with some extra time on your hands. I would suggest that this might be the perfect time for you to join us in this experiment and level up your skillset. The world is changing rapidly. Agile gives us a way to deal with change. Join one of our upcoming classes online and let us help you to deal with this change.
